Preferred Name: John
About Me
I started work doing individual and group counseling in 1989. I added EMDR to my counseling approach in 2015. I've had extensive experience treating mood disorders, trauma issues, anxiety-related issues, along with issues related to addictions. I primarily work with adults, but also have worked with teens. Besides working with individuals, I've also done much couples counseling.
Education & Experience
I graduated with a B.A. in psychology from Swarthmore College in 1987 and received my Masters in Social Work from Columbia University in 1998. I started work in addictions in 1989 and started working more with mental health issues in general when I worked in New York City while attending Columbia part-time in the mid-1990s. I then moved back to my hometown of Baltimore in 2007. I've attended numerous conferences and trainings over the years, particularly in EMDR since 2015.
