About Me

I have seen the transformative effect of counseling not only in my own life but also in the lives of others. Therapy has the potential to help people break free from patterns that are holding them back and provide a fresh perspective and a renewed sense of purpose. I believe that everyone has the potential to live a meaningful and fulfilling life. Together, we will talk about how you got to where you are now, what is important to you, and what is working and not working for you. Using evidence-based mindfulness and behavioral therapies, together we will develop strategies and skills for making meaningful change.

Education & Experience

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor and a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor. I earned my bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Houston and my master’s degree in clinical psychology from the University of Houston-Clear Lake. I have worked in a variety of professional settings including MD Anderson Cancer Center, providing counseling for grief, loss, life adjustment, and tobacco cessation to patients and their families and worked at The Menninger Clinic on an intensive outpatient program and a community integration program working with a population of young adults and older with co-occurring mental health issues including substance use, personality disorders, attachment, anxiety and mood disorders. I have an integrative approach using mindfulness-based, person-centered counseling. I have experience in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), and I’m an EMDR Trained therapist. I work with individuals rebuilding their life after recovering from addiction, finding direction after adjusting to significant life changes such as cancer, chronic health issues, and divorce, and regaining balance after the impact of trauma and grief, and men adjusting to life transitions in relationships. I also help people manage anxiety and mood disorders.
