About Me
I am a mental health therapist who is passionate about helping children, adolescents, and adults navigate difficult experiences, better understand their emotions, and develop the skills they need to move forward.
My approach to therapy is compassionate, individualized, and trauma-informed. I believe therapy should provide a space where clients feel safe, supported, and understood while also helping them develop practical tools they can use outside of sessions. When working with children and adolescents, I incorporate developmentally appropriate and engaging approaches that allow them to express themselves in ways that feel natural and comfortable.
I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and incorporate EMDR into my work with clients who are experiencing the effects of trauma, distressing life experiences, negative beliefs, anxiety, and other emotional challenges. I also integrate approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills, play-based interventions, grounding, emotional regulation, and coping-skills development based on each client's individual needs.
I understand that beginning therapy—and especially addressing difficult or traumatic experiences—can feel overwhelming. My goal is to meet clients where they are, build a strong therapeutic relationship, and help them move toward healing at a pace that feels manageable.
Education & Experience
### Education & Experience
I graduated from the University at Buffalo in 2017 with a Master’s Degree in Social Work. I bring over 20 years of experience working in social work settings and have had the opportunity to support children, adolescents, adults, and families throughout my career.
My professional experience includes working with individuals experiencing trauma, anxiety, emotional and behavioral challenges, family stress, relationship difficulties, and other life challenges. I have provided services across a variety of settings, including community-based, in-home, outpatient, and school-based environments.
I have continued to expand my clinical knowledge through specialized training, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. My extensive background in social work, combined with my clinical training, allows me to take an individualized and trauma-informed approach to understanding each client’s experiences, strengths, and needs.
