About Me

Juliana Snapp is an EMDRIA-certified psychotherapist and Consultant-in-Training based in Washington, DC. She has 17 years of experience specializing in trauma-informed mental health treatment for survivors of complex trauma, with a focus on rehabilitation from torture and gender-based violence. Juliana did this work in the US with the Bellevue/NYU Program for Survivors of Torture and internationally with The Center for Victims of Torture, UNICEF, and Transitions Global. She lived and worked as an expatriate for almost a decade in various parts of Southeast Asia and Western Europe and she knows first-hand what it is like to live far from home. Juliana currently has a private psychotherapy and international mental health consulting practice based in Washington, DC. She serves clients in DC, Virginia, New York and internationally. She is passionate about understanding the neurobiology of trauma and applying it to provide high quality individual psychotherapy, as well as trauma-informed staff care support for individuals and organizations working with vulnerable populations or in high-stress, high-threat settings.
