Julianna Hedberg, LMHC, LPC, CCTP
(She/her)
Preferred Name: Julianna
About Me
I specialize in work with teens (13+) and adults who feel that previous therapy—particularly trauma therapy—has not fully been effective.
Many of the clients I work with have had experiences where therapy felt overwhelming, moved too quickly, or did not align with how their mind and nervous system process information. My approach to EMDR is intentional, attuned, and grounded in nervous system-informed care, so you don’t have to push through or become flooded in order to make meaningful progress.
I integrate EMDR with a flexible, individualized approach, drawing on the full protocol as well as adaptations that support stabilization, pacing, and effective processing. This includes the use of Flash technique, parts-informed work, and trauma-informed cognitive behavioral strategies, depending on the needs of the client.
My work is also informed by both professional training and lived understanding of neurodivergence, which supports a collaborative and responsive approach that respects how different brains process and respond to experience.
Education & Experience
I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with licensure in Maryland (LC13981), Delaware (PC-0011220), Washington (LH60965436), and Oregon (C6673).
I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical and Mental Health Counseling and a Bachelor’s degree in Human Behavior Analysis from Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest, Hungary, with coursework focused on the connection between psychological and somatic responses to stress and trauma.
I am an EMDRIA Certified EMDR Therapist and an EMDRIA Consultant-in-Training, and I participate in ongoing advanced EMDR consultation and training. My EMDR practice integrates the standard EMDR protocol along with advanced applications, including EMDR Group Traumatic Event Protocol (G-TEP) and Recent Traumatic Event Protocol (R-TEP). I am also trained in Flash and Advanced Flash techniques.
In addition, I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), with training in trauma-informed cognitive behavioral therapy and parts-informed approaches.
I have over 9 years of clinical experience across levels of care, including intensive outpatient work with children and families and outpatient therapy with adults. My current work focuses on trauma treatment with teens (13+) and adults, particularly those for whom previous therapy has not been fully effective. I have a particular focus on adapting EMDR for clients who may benefit from a more attuned, nervous system-informed pace in order for the work to be effective.
