About Me

I am a licensed marriage and family therapist licensed in the state of Florida since 2008. I specialize in working with survivors of trauma from child sexual abuse and assault as well as exposure to domestic violence and other types of traumas for the past 18 years in the setting of community mental health and private practice.

Education & Experience

I attained my master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2005 from St. Thomas University in Miami, FL. I have extensive experience in working with children and adolescents with severe behavioral and emotional problems in the area of trauma. I have provided services in the home, outpatient and in private practice. I am a clinical supervisor at Kristi House which is a child advocacy center providing individual, family and group counseling for child, adolescent and adult survivors of child sexual abuse and other traumas. I have a hybrid (Telehealth/In-person) private practice in Miami Lakes, FL where i work with adolescents, adults and couples in a variety of issues including trauma. I conduct community and outreach presentations in the community in advocating for the victims of child sexual abuse and sexual exploitation as well as the LGBTQIA+ Community. I have my national certification as a Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapist (TF-CBT) in 2013 and attained my EMDR Basic Training in 2019 and looking to be certified as an EMDR therapist in 2024. I am in currently in the process of attaining my PhD in Counseling from Barry University in Miami Shores, FL. In addition to my clinical experience, I teach counseling and psychology courses in colleges and universities in South Florida.

I am a Clinical Fellow for the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy and hold memberships at the American Counseling Association as well as the American Psychological Association.
