Kai Kitaji, LICSW,
Preferred Name: Kai
About Me
Kai’s passion for EMDR started in 2018 when she first experienced EMDR in a training. She was amazed at the power of EMDR in working with single incident traumas, complex trauma, relational and attachment traumas, anxiety, and depression. Out of all of her training, EMDR has proven to be the most effective and efficient model of therapy for healing. Our bodies are created to have responses and memories. We hold cognitions(beliefs and narratives), emotions(feeling we have in response), and physical sensations(how the body takes in experiences through all of the senses). When life experiences are distressing we tend to feel stuck in our thoughts, feelings and/or physical sensations. EMDR is effective in resolving traumatic events, distressing somatic responses and destructive relational patterns. Kai’s approach to therapy is very collaborative and individualized to meet your needs and goals for treatment. It would be her honor to be beside you on your journey to healing and growth.
