Ms. Kala Carrick, LMFT
Preferred Name: Kala
About Me
Hello! Nice to meet you and thank you for stopping by Kala's little corner. Kala is a California transplant from New Mexico. Her clinical work ties together not only my academic and professional training, but also her personal experiences. Her style is much more of a conversationalist in sessions rather than the traditional blank slate. She offers a non-judgmental and compassionate space for patients to tell their stories. With that being said, she also believes in your resiliency and ability to heal.
Education & Experience
Kala received her BA in Psychology from the University of New Mexico (UNM) in Albuquerque. From there, she continued on to receive her Masters of Science in Psychology from California State University, Fullerton (CSUF). In addition to clinical work, Kala also has a passion for clinical research. She has worked for over a decade in clinical research with many organizations. Most recently, she has worked with the PTSD research lab at the VA in Long Beach.
