About Me

As a native Tennessean, I started my journey of self-discovery in 1991 when my first marriage fell apart. A mother of two and a critical care nurse, I was terrified of facing life on my own at that time. I just didn’t understand why my plans hadn’t worked out. Luckily, I was able to begin individual counseling, a decision that set me on a trajectory of emotional healing that I have never regretted. Because of my desire to pass on the same gift to others, I returned to school in 1998 to become a psychiatric nurse practitioner. After graduating from Vanderbilt University in 2003, I became trained in EMDR and Internal Family Systems therapy. In 2005, I joined a private practice in Cordova, TN where I treated clients with a variety of diagnoses, using the modalities of psychotherapy and medication management. In 2015, my family and I decided to relocate to Washington State to fulfill our personal dream of living in the Pacific Northwest. Once in Central Washington, I began practicing with Comprehensive Health Care as an outpatient clinician, later transferring to their inpatient facility in 2019. Under the tutelage of my esteemed mentor Dr. Frank Garner, I gained significant experience in the treatment of severe mood disorders, dissociative disorders, and psychotic disorders. In 2020, I felt I needed a change and took a position with a national telepsychiatry company and after one year transitioned to my private practice in Yakima, WA. When I’m not working with my clients, I love to spend time with my family, friends, and my two goldendoodles . My hobbies include meditation, yoga, hiking, bicycling, water sports, travel, art, food, music, and body centered consciousness training (Holotrophic breathwork, yoga retreats, and experiential growth workshops).
