Karoline Kowalczyk, LCSW

Preferred Name: Karoline

About Me

Hi, I’m Karoline. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (L.C.S.W.) in the states of Illinois and Maine and have over 13 years of post-graduate experience providing psychotherapy. We all get stuck or lost at one point or another in our lives, and often we are unprepared, confused, and scared. The primary goals of my psychotherapy practice are to help my clients feel better and create the best possible lives for themselves. Although I have extensive experience working with a wide range of concerns, I specialize in trauma, dating, and attachment. In addition to being a general practitioner, I also practice EMDR. I am passionate about EMDR, a transformative therapy that shifts people's beliefs about themselves and allows for new ways of relating to traumatic and distressing experiences.

Education & Experience

I graduated from the University of Chicago Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy, and Practice in 2010 with an MA in Social Work. I have experience working in community mental health, the outpatient psychiatry department of a major academic medical center, and private practice.
