About Me

Be kind to your friends, and even those who are not your friends. My late Dad, for whom the name of my practice is an homage, instilled the value of this sentiment from the time I was a young kid. To this day, I consider kindness an indicator of decency, intellect, morality, and appreciation for others. My family, friends, and clients know that regardless of what’s going on in the room or in the world, they can trust that I will always engage them with compassion, respect, and integrity.
You will often hear me urge you to spend time in nature and I practice what I preach. As much as possible, I can be found outside appreciating the views, hiking, visiting state and national parks, literally hugging a tree (try it, it’s scientifically proven to have mental and physical health benefits), gardening, and enjoying daily walks with my husband, daughter, and dog, Charley. The arts have been an important part of my life since I was young, and when I have the opportunity to take in live music, a theatre or dance performance, or visit galleries and museums, I’m eager to do so. Fun fact: I used to sing in a couple of local bands! Mostly, I enjoy being with my friends and family, recharging with a great book, TV series, or word game while my cat Billy Joel lounges in my lap, and playing with our curious, funny, and adorable toddler.

Education & Experience

I received my Bachelor’s degree from the University of Tulsa and my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Oklahoma. Continuing education is a priority so I regularly attend trainings, stay up to date on current trends in psychology, and enjoy sharing interesting or helpful insights I’ve learned with clients in and outside of sessions when appropriate. I have worked in both community mental health agencies and in a small private practice. In January of 2025 I opened my own private practice, Peace On You Counseling. Before counseling, I spent 13 years working in nonprofit fundraising in Tulsa and Chicago, and five years as co-owner of a Tulsa estate sale and residential appraisals company.
