Ms. Kathleen Fitzgerald

Education & Experience

I have a Master's degree in Education in the areas of Learning Disabilities and Emotional Handicapping Conditions, and I have a Master's degree in Education in the area of Counselor Education. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, and have worked with people of all ages, couples, families and groups as a counselor since 2000. I am also intensively trained in DBT, and I am trained in EFT and pursuing certification in EFT, and love working with teens and families, and have found the combination of DBT, EFT and EMDR a very helpful combination, especially when working with folks who have cognitive processing issues such as ADHD, and LD. In addition, I have taught at the Duke Medical Center, working with health care professionals as well as patients for over 10 years. Many of them have experienced trauma and greatly benefit from EMDR.

Professional & Volunteer Affiliations

I volunteer with the Learning Disabilities Association. I also work with teens and families, and have been incorporating Hip-Hop dance into work with teens, veterans and young adults.
