I am happily married and enjoy the outdoors of Northern Minnesota. I have two grown stepchildren who also live in Bemidji. I'm originally from Davenport, Iowa and have lived in Bemidji since 1981. My interests and hobbies include fishing, hunting, golfing, gardening, hiking and biking.

Education & Experience

Kathryn (Kathy) Faver has been providing mental health counseling services since 1996 in outpatient clinics and private practice. She primarily works with adolescents and adults ranging in age from 11- 95. Kathy holds a Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of North Dakota and a Bachelor of Science in Social Work Degree from Bemidji State University. Kathy is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in the state of Minnesota. License #3151. Kathy specializes in treating trauma, depression, anxiety, serious mental illness, life transition stress, and treatment for those who have sexual behavior offenses. She has completed training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT). She holds Clinical Membership in the Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers (ATSA) and MNATSA. Kathy is a Social Work Board Certified Supervisor in the state of Minnesota. Kathy provides individual, couples and family therapy and works from a wholistic, strengths-based approach.
