Kei Izumi is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), licensed in the state of Illinois. She received her Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Moody Theological Seminary. Her approach to therapy is rooted in everyday life, it is shaped by her rigorous academic training and seasoned by years of direct patient care experience. She uses an integrative and holistic framework which encompasses traditional talk therapy, strengths-based approaches, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). While Kei has experience working with a wide range of presenting issues including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma recovery, and addiction issues, she specializes in working with clients affected by trauma both PTSD, and various traumatic experiences including sexual assault/abuse, physical assault/abuse, emotional abuse, emotional and physical neglect, violence, accidents, and medical trauma. Ultimately, the counseling Kei provides is about her client. It begins with their life story and is uniquely tailored to their needs to help them become the person they wish to be. Additionally, Kei is also fluent in Japanese and would welcome the opportunity to work with those who may be struggling with their transition into US culture.
