About Me

At times, life can feel complex and challenging for all of us. However, finding a therapist who is a good fit for your individual needs can feel very reassuring. The therapeutic relationship between you and your therapist is an important aspect in determining the efficacy of your therapeutic experience.

Education & Experience

I have a Masters in Social Work, and I am a Registered Social Worker with more than 15 years of psychotherapy and case management experience. Although I am primarily attachment-based in my approach, I integrate other treatment modalities to accommodate a client's individual needs for therapy. For several years, I have been an EMDRIA certified therapist in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). EMDR is an evidence-based approach, which may decrease the intensity of feelings connected to trauma, grief and loss, as well as anxiety and depressive symptoms. Often, we can become “stuck” in a negative thought cycle. EMDR can assist in targeting negative thought patterns; eventually replacing them with more positive/neutral, and constructive ones. The therapeutic approaches I practice as a therapist are ones that I have also experienced as a client. I would be honoured to support you to find peace on your journey through life.

Professional & Volunteer Affiliations

I am a member of EMDRIA, EMDR Canada and the Ontario College of Social Work and Social Service Workers.
