About Me

Painful memories and trauma can keep affecting your relationships, work, sleep and sense of self long after the event. I'm Kyle Poon, M.Ed., a Registered Psychologist and EMDRIA Certified Therapist, Approved Consultant and Approved Trainer. I offer EMDR and trauma-focused therapy by secure video for adults anywhere in Alberta.

I work with single-incident and complex trauma, including childhood, sexual and racial trauma, and with first responders, Veterans, health care workers and BIPOC clients. My style is calm, collaborative and direct when needed, and we set the pace together.

Education & Experience

I have a Master of Education in counselling psychology. I am a Registered Psychologist in good standing with the College of Alberta Psychologists.

I have worked in a variety of settings including community work, counselling centres and treatment programs. I was the Acting Director of an outpatient trauma, mental health and addiction treatment centre for 2 years. I now work in private practice at KP Psychological Inc., an online practice for clients anywhere in Alberta.
