Mx. Lando Adams, LCSW, SIFI, EMDR Trained
(They/Them/Theirs)
About Me
Lando Adams, LCSW (they/them) is a New York City–based trauma therapist specializing in EMDR and the treatment of complex trauma (CPTSD), anxiety, and identity-related stress. They work primarily with adults from LGBTQ+ communities, people of color, and others with marginalized identities, offering care that is grounded in empathy, cultural awareness, and respect for each client’s lived experience.
Lando’s clinical approach integrates EMDR with psychosomatic and insight-oriented therapy, supporting clients in processing trauma, reducing distress, and building a stronger sense of self. They are particularly attuned to how systemic oppression, chronic stress, and early relational experiences shape emotional patterns, self-concept, and interpersonal dynamics. Their work emphasizes creating a therapeutic space that feels safe, collaborative, and affirming—where clients can move at their own pace while engaging in meaningful, lasting change.
As a trauma therapist, Jonathan values compassionate, client-centered care that prioritizes both emotional safety and clinical effectiveness. They are committed to helping clients reconnect with their bodies, access resilience, and develop new ways of relating to themselves and others.
Outside of their professional work, Lando enjoys engaging with music, extreme sports (marathon running, winter spots, fitness challenges), and creative expression, as well as enjoying theatre in New York City and spending time their dog Chubbz. These interests inform their appreciation for storytelling and the diverse ways people make meaning of their lives and experiences.
