Ms. Laura Phillips, LCSW
(she/her)
About Me
Hi, I’m Laura (she/her), I am a late-diagnosed neurodivergent therapist, and I specialize in neurodivergent-affirming therapy for teens and adults. I am passionate about anti-ableist therapy that also takes into account one’s other intersecting identities and experiences. Many of my clients are LGBTQIA+, people of color, and carrying trauma. I support my clients with safely moving into deep work, healing through self-compassion, and practical tools (like ever-important boundary-setting skills, especially for the high maskers!). Come as you are! Virtual & in-person sessions available.
I use a relational and accommodating approach to support clients navigating the lasting impacts of trauma, anxiety, depression, and relationship struggles. My approach integrates EMDR, attachment-based therapy, Internal Family Systems ("parts work"), and somatic-informed practices.
In addition to offering ongoing therapy which may included EMDR, I also provide EMDR work for folks who already have a primary therapist. I provide therapy in-person and through telehealth. Some clients prefer a mix of both.
I offer a free, no pressure intro call to give you a chance to get a sense of me before scheduling a first session. If I'm not the right fit for you, I'd be happy to offer you referrals.
Education & Experience
I am a licensed clinical social worker (licensed in 2018). In addition to being EMDR Certified, I have training in Internal Family Systems for complex trauma, Emotionally-Focused Therapy (based in attachment science), and additional training in working with autistic and gender diverse individuals.
I believe it’s part of my responsibility as a therapist to continually do my own inner work and approach this profession with humility. I strive to recognize my privilege and stay accountable for my own ongoing learning and growth.
Professional & Volunteer Affiliations
I am a member of EMDR International Association.
