About Me
My name is Lauren and I am a licensed marriage and family therapist and a certified EMDR therapist. I am also a mother, daughter and a third generation holocaust survivor. I have always felt things very deeply and struggled to understand the existential pain of the world. I suffered from depression and anxiety as a kid and used food and other things to cope. I was mis diagnosed for a large part of my life. It wasn't until my mid 20's that I realized grief and trauma played a huge part in my suffering. Many years later I did trauma work and was able to clear many of the beliefs, feelings and body sensations that were keeping me stuck. Today I see clients in my private practice and provide EMDR therapy. I love this sacred work, It continues to amaze me on a daily basis!
Education & Experience
My early work as a therapist landed me in treatment centers all over Los Angeles. It is in the world of addiction and in my private practice that I learned that talking with people was great but not enough. I became trained in EMDR and loved it so much that I became certified. I see clients with a variety of issues and use EMDR and IFS (internal family systems). These two modalities work very well together.
