(She/Her)
Preferred Name: Leah
About Me
I have been a practicing Licensed Clinical Social Worker in health/mental health for over fifteen years. I am passionate about supporting those navigating anxiety, depression, new or ongoing health conditions, grief, loss and interpersonal relationships. I really admire my clients and see them as equals. So, naturally, I also speak with patients as capable equals. I consider myself a trauma informed therapist who presents with empathy, warmth, curiosity and compassion. I can relate to feeling stuck, as well as being unsure exactly how to proceed in a way that felt right for me. My personal experiences in life help me naturally bring a very accepting presence as a therapist. It’s tremendous to do this work, and I have a passion to continue learning more because it is so fulfilling. It has taken you so much courage to ask for help. Together we can navigate this New Terrain for you; giving you the tools and space to healing on your journey. Outside of work you will find me escaping to the mountains for a hike, kickboxing, powerlifting, cooking new recipes or comedy nights in the city. My guilty pleasure on television are a handful of franchises of the Real Housewives on Bravo TV.
Education & Experience
I obtained my Bachelor’s & Master’s in Social Work at Southern Illinois University of Carbondale, with a primary focus in health and mental health. I have worked in various settings including community mental health, Primary Care Providers office and in hospital (both psychiatric and medical) settings. I am also anticipating completing my Advance Certification in EMDR at the end of 2024 through Kase & Co.
