Leigh Freilich, LCSW

About Me

I provide psychotherapy to people of all identities and backgrounds that seek improved health. In addition to treating common challenges, such as depression, anxiety, and acute stress, I have advanced training and expertise in the treatment of PTSD, care for LGBTQIA+ adults, and adjustment related stress commonly experienced by refugees and immigrants. While I am an EMDR Certified Therapist, I take an eclectic approach to providing therapy and incorporate various modalities, as needed, to most effectively address your needs and preferences. Interventions informed by Internal Family Systems/"Parts Work," CBT, Mindfulness, and ACT are common approaches that I use to support people with accomplishing their goals. My approach is informed by prior work, life, and educational experiences within child welfare, refugee resettlement, mental health care for low-income women and underserved populations, and time abroad. I operate from an inclusive, affirming perspective that acknowledges the impact of oppressive forces and the adverse health outcomes that disproportionately affect people within marginalized communities. Whatever your goals for therapy may be, you can expect that I will collaborate with you towards accomplishing them. Whether you are seeking support with recovery from traumatic events, coping with symptoms of depression or anxiety, navigating life transitions, or hoping to break unhelpful patterns of behavior, therapy can help. Let's co-create a space that supports your safety, personal growth, and improved health.
