Lennie Pennisi, LMSW - Clinical
About Me
My name is Lennie Pennisi and I am a licensed master social worker who works at an outpatient behavioral health clinic at Corewell Health. I previously worked over 7 years at a local community mental health agency as a supervisor and therapist. I enjoy working and living in the community I serve. As a social worker, I encourage and foster growth in the client's spiritual, cultural, and beliefs in self and the world in order to align with their passions and meaning in living.
I incorporate EMDR with cognitive interweaves that our clinically appropriate based on client's presentation, affect, and diagnosis including incorporating CBT, DBT, and relational work.
I acknowledge the heavy role that systems play to influence individual, family, and communal mental health and strive for solutions to these systems that oppress, isolate, and disparage healing and growth.
In therapy, we will explore how manners (behaviors and senses) exist and compete alongside your inner world. We will explore how our judgement of self may be influenced by our senses. The connection between our inner-world and our experiences operate simultaneously. Discovering in the details, what one sees and how they see, in order to lead to change and healing through the therapeutic process and relationship.
