Preferred Name: Leslie
About Me
I am a Marriage and Family Therapist specializing in individual, couples and family therapy, with over 28 years in a private practice in California. I earned an undergraduate degree in Rhetoric at University of California, Davis and a Masters degree in Counseling at Cal State East Bay. I use an eclectic approach to therapy including Family Systems, Cognitive Behavioral therapy, EMDR, and Mindfulness Techniques. I enjoy helping individuals, couples and families understand their past, make peace with their present and move toward a satisfying and fulfilling future.
I use my life experiences, training and education and personal faith to connect with individuals in all phases and walks of life. I have a compassionate and understanding approach to helping individuals, couples and families navigate life's challenges. I treat a variety of issues not limited to anxiety, depression, divorce, and life transitions.
My goal is to help you uncover your true potential and lead a life that brings you hope, joy and meaning. By applying complementary therapy approaches and techniques like Family Systems, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Mindfulness, and EMDR we will work together to understand your past, develop skills to work through your present challenges, and accomplish your future goals.
As well as being a successful therapist, I am a high school youth leader in the East Bay. I was married for 27 years before becoming a widow and have raised 2 teenage boys and have watched them grow into amazing young men. I love my family, friendships, and my Tibetan Terrier. I enjoy walking with friends, gardening, piano, and a good movie and great food!
