About Me
Dr. Maria T. Arieta, Psy.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist and the founder of Juniper & Jade Psychotherapy. She specializes in EMDR therapy for adults and adolescents navigating trauma, anxiety, life transitions, and relationship challenges. Dr. Arieta offers a warm, collaborative, and grounded approach, helping clients process painful experiences, build emotional resilience, and reconnect with their sense of self. She integrates EMDR with relational and attachment-informed care to support meaningful, lasting change in a safe and compassionate therapeutic space.
Education & Experience
Dr. Maria T. Arieta, Psy.D., earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Davis, and her Master’s and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology. She has been in private practice since 2010, working with children, adolescents, adults and families across a range of clinical concerns, including trauma, anxiety, and relationship issues. In 2024, she founded Juniper & Jade Psychotherapy, a group practice dedicated to thoughtful, trauma-informed care. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Arieta enjoys mentoring associate therapists and supporting their professional growth while maintaining a high standard of ethical, compassionate care.
Professional & Volunteer Affiliations
Dr. Arieta is an active member of the Marin County Psychological Association and the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists. She is committed to supporting the well-being of her local community and has sponsored a number of youth-focused organizations, including San Rafael Girls’ Softball, San Marin High School, and 100+ Teens Who Care Bay Area. Through both her clinical work and community involvement, Dr. Arieta is dedicated to promoting emotional health, resilience, and access to care for children, teens, and families.
