About Me

I have served as a counseling and treatment provider for over 30 years in varying capacities. I first started working with adolescents and their families as a counselor and case manager in a residential co-occurring program in 1991 and have extensive experience working in mental health teams to assist youth and their families. Additionally, I spent nearly 5 years living and working in tribal behavioral health, servicing communities in frontier Alaska. These experiences provided me with opportunities to expand my ability to work with richly diverse populations spanning all ages, experiences, and needs. I am trained in EMDR, Grief counseling, Trauma counseling, and Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM).

Education & Experience

I hold a Master of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Central Arkansas and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Utah.

I am an independently Licensed Professional Counselor and approved Supervisor for licensure candidates in the State of Alaska (LPC-S); I am an independently Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of Hawaii as well as a licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in the State of Utah. Under the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC), I am also a National Certified Counselor (NCC). I am a nationally certified Master Addictions Counselor (MAC) under the National Association for Addiction Professionals (NAADAC) , Additionally, I am a Certified Clinical Tele-Mental Health Professional (CTMH).
