About Me

I’m a therapist who values honesty, depth, humor, and genuine human connection. I’m active and engaged in sessions: I ask questions, offer direct feedback, use metaphors and analogies, and help clients put language to experiences they may have carried privately for years. You won’t find me silently nodding from across the room while leaving you to figure everything out yourself.

I work especially well with people who want to understand the patterns that keep following them through life—shame, difficult family dynamics, painful relationships, anxiety, anger, or ways of coping that once helped but now create problems of their own. I want clients to feel deeply understood without being treated as fragile. We can take your pain seriously while still making room for curiosity, hope, and an appropriate amount of humor.

My own experience in therapy changed my life and eventually led me into this profession. Because I know what it feels like to sit on the other side of the room, I try to offer clients what was once offered to me: a place to be honest, make sense of their story, and discover that their past does not have to dictate what comes next. Depending on the day, my certified therapy dog, Monty, may also be available to provide moral support and steal a portion of the attention.

Education & Experience

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and hold an EdD in Organizational Leadership with an Emphasis in Behavioral Health from Grand Canyon University. I completed EMDR basic training and have 13 years of experience incorporating EMDR into trauma treatment.

I have also completed a yearlong Level 1 training in Internal Family Systems and Level 1 and Level 2 training in Emotionally Focused Therapy. I have eight years of experience using EFT, four years of experience using IFS, and have taught attachment theory at the university level. My professional experience includes working with adults, couples, teenagers, and families, as well as leading addiction recovery, anger management, and expressive arts groups. These experiences allow me to approach trauma from multiple angles while tailoring treatment to the needs, history, and pace of each client.
