About Me
I'm Michael Christopher Blake Edwards, MS, NCC, LMHC-QS, CCTP, ADHD-CCSP, a licensed mental health counselor based in Florida and Ontario.
My work is grounded in trauma-informed, client-centered care, and I've completed EMDRIA-Approved Basic Training in EMDR, which I bring into session alongside other evidence-based approaches depending on what each person actually needs.
I take a direct, collaborative approach to therapy — less about following a fixed script, more about building something that actually fits the person in front of me. I'm continuing my EMDR training toward full certification, and I'm always working to deepen what I bring to the room.
I'm licensed in Florida and currently expanding my practice internationally.
Education & Experience
Education
I hold a dual Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Marital, Couples, and Family Counseling/Therapy, training that shapes how I work with individuals and relationships alike, rather than treating those as two separate skill sets.
Experience
I've spent the last 15 years in clinical practice, working directly with individuals and couples through a trauma-informed, collaborative lens. Alongside individual and family/couples therapy, I provide clinical supervision for counselors and marriage and family therapists working toward licensure, and offer Mindful Hypnosis™, a stress-reduction and stress-management approach I've developed as part of my practice.
