About Me

I provide therapy for individuals ages 18 and up and couples. Before pursuing a career in mental health, I served in the Marine Corps and Pennsylvania Army National Guard. While my military career began with fixing helicopters, my time as a POW camp guard deeply impacted me, revealing the resilience, humanity, and challenges people face. These experiences inspired me to transition from repairing helicopters to helping individuals overcome trauma, drawing on my journey to guide others toward healing. I frequently use EMDR therapy to help clients process and resolve distressing memories effectively. In my practice, I utilize evidence-based approaches like EMDR therapy, as well as mindfulness-based therapies, the Gottman Method for couples, and various forms of CBT. These tools help clients navigate trauma, depression, anxiety, insomnia, relationship challenges, and personal growth. I am also a dedicated ally and advocate for the LGBTQIA+ community, with experience working alongside individuals in non-traditional lifestyle relationships and those undergoing transitions. My personal journey, combined with extensive professional training, allows me to connect with clients in a compassionate and understanding way, meeting them where they are and helping them work through a wide range of challenges.

Education & Experience

I embarked on my journey in the Marines straight out of high school, specializing in aircraft electronics repair. After completing my service, I returned home to Pittsburgh to pursue my education, earning a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Pittsburgh. During my time at Pitt, I continued to serve in the Army National Guard as a MEDEVAC helicopter avionics mechanic. Following the completion of my MSW, I deployed once more and, upon returning, began my career in mental health. Since then, I have worked extensively with the VA, including four years as a civilian mental health provider for the Air Force Reserves. My professional experience spans inpatient medical social work, crisis intervention in emergency departments, outpatient mental health care, and drug and alcohol recovery, providing me with a comprehensive understanding of diverse client needs.
