Michele Villarreal, LMFT
About Me
I am the founder of Four Seasons Counseling and Clinicial Supervisor and I specialize in EMDR Therapy, Attachment-Based Therapy, Integrated Attachment Theory (IAT), trauma treatment, narcissistic and emotional abuse recovery, and Catholic & Christian Counseling for adults seeking deeper healing from experiences that continue to affect their lives and relationships.
Many of the clients I work with are thoughtful, high-functioning, and self-aware. They may understand their experiences intellectually but continue to feel emotionally stuck in patterns of anxiety, people-pleasing, perfectionism, hypervigilance, self-doubt, relationship insecurity, or feeling “not good enough.”
EMDR is a central focus of my practice. I use EMDR to help clients identify and process painful experiences, memories, negative beliefs, and relational wounds that continue to influence how they feel about themselves and respond in present-day relationships.
My areas of specialization include:
* EMDR Therapy
* Attachment-Based Therapy & Integrated Attachment Theory (IAT)
* Trauma and PTSD
* Narcissistic & Emotional Abuse Recovery
* Family-of-Origin and Relational Trauma
* Adult children of narcissistic or emotionally immature parents
* Childhood emotional neglect
* Anxious and avoidant attachment patterns
* Unhealthy or emotionally abusive relationships
* Relationship trauma, betrayal, and difficult breakups
* Anxiety, perfectionism, and people-pleasing
* Negative core beliefs and self-worth
* Catholic & Christian Counseling
My attachment work incorporates Integrated Attachment Theory (IAT) to help clients better understand how early relationships and significant life experiences may have shaped their attachment patterns, core beliefs, emotional needs, and the ways they seek connection or protect themselves in relationships.
My therapeutic approach integrates EMDR, Attachment-Based Therapy, IAT, CBT, trauma-informed care, and psychoeducation, allowing us to work with both the experiences underlying current difficulties and the patterns that continue to reinforce them.
For clients who desire it, I also provide Catholic & Christian Counseling. Faith can be thoughtfully integrated into the therapeutic process while addressing trauma, relationships, family-of-origin experiences, anxiety, self-worth, and other concerns.
I provide therapy through Four Seasons Counseling in the Sacramento area, with in-person therapy and telehealth available throughout California.
Thoughtful Therapy. Meaningful Change. Through Every Season.
