About Me
Starting my professional path in 2002, I transitioned from teaching to providing social and clinical services for youth and families who are impacted by toxic stress and trauma. My current focus is working with individual adults and facilitating groups where you will learn and practice new skills to increase self regulation. I take a down to earth approach to create an open, safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgement and shame.
Education & Experience
I completed a B.A. in Theater Arts at CSU, Fresno in 2002, and a Master of Social Work at CSU, Sacramento in 2010. While my focus was on school social work, my career lead me to children's mental health services where I supervised a team of home visitors who supported new parents to give their young children and healthy start, provided direct therapy to youth in group homes, outpatient therapy for youth and their families, including biological, blended, foster, and adoptive families. As a post adoption social worker, I answered a warm line to support parents and youth in adoption related concerns, navigate resource, and ran support groups. Before beginning private practice, I was a director of clinical programs focused on treating and supporting children and families at risk for or impacted by child abuse, neglect and community violence. All of these experiences led me to identify EMDR as my primary treatment modality to help adults move forward from their past.
