About Me
I wholeheartedly believe in a person's ability to heal and develop new patterns, strategies, and responses that better serve them and their desires for life. I understand the lasting impacts trauma and other negative experiences can have on life, relationships, and health. Using EMDR and other therapeutic modalities my goal is to help you understand the dynamics of your experience and what is needed to feel empowered and have a greater sense of fulfillment. When working with me you can expect to find a safe and judgement free space to explore all parts of yourself including those we safely guard and protect.
Education & Experience
I received my BS in Human Developement and Family Studies from Texas Tech Univeristy. After moving to California, I returned to school and received my MA in Counseling Psychology from John F. Kennedy University. Before private practice, I spent 5 years working in different settings including Intensive Outpatient, Residential, and outpatient centers focusing on mental health and substance use disorders. I have worked with children, youth, adults, couples, as well as groups. My current focus is on adult individuals as well as adolescents struggling with trauma, anxiety, self esteem, and boundary setting.
