Preferred Name: Naomi
About Me
I am a gender queer (she/they), female-bodied, mother in my mid-40s, and much more. I have lived experience with some of the areas I now specialize in as a therapist. My ancestry is predominantly Norwegian and Scottish, along with traces from northern, western and eastern Europe. I was born and raised in the region many call the Pacific Northwest, in a blended family with multiple siblings, on the unceded stolen indigenous lands of a diverse array of tribes. I am engaged and evolving with the continual process of coming to terms with my whiteness. I value being in relationship with plants and animals; gardening; preparing and sharing nourishing foods; engaging in dance and movement practices; being with family and friends and lovers; swimming in natural waters; participating in community service and activism; singing in groups; and creative expression through various art forms such as creative writing and photography.
Education & Experience
I hold an MA in Professional Mental Health Counseling and a Certificate in Ecopsychology from Lewis & Clark Graduate School of Education & Counseling. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), C#8221, w/ the Oregon Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists (OBLPCT). I have experience providing individual counseling and therapy to adults in community mental health settings, in the non-profit sector, and in private practice. I specialize in supporting survivors of intimate partner violence, childhood sexual abuse, sexual assault, stalking or human trafficking. I have experience providing psychoeducation to individuals and groups on topics such as the dynamics of intimate partner violence, common responses to trauma, trauma-sensitive mindfulness, and growth-fostering relationships.
