About Me

Nena Tahil is a licensed mental health counselor, a board-certified life coach, and a board certified telemental health practitioner. Ms. Tahil is the principle of Transformative Life Consultants, LLC, whose mission is to raise awareness of behavioral health issues by proactively engaging individuals and communities in the continuum of counseling, coaching and lifelong learning. For over 30 years she has dedicated her career to empowering and improving lives of those who are marginalized, under-represented and faced with life challenges. Ms. Tahil draws on her teaching, coaching, mentoring, and counseling experiences from her careers as a corporate executive and behavioral health specialist to engage audiences. She has facilitated learning experiences in corporate entities, grass-roots organizations, academic institutions and behavioral health facilities – both in the New York City and Florida areas. Leveraging her own life lessons as a survivor of traumatic events and situations, her personal goal is to help transform trauma into triumph. Ms. Tahil’s counseling specialization is resiliency enhancement, assisting people with life transition issues and crisis management. Her approach to helping clients is to empower them; to guide them discover realistic solutions. She helps clients identify what they want in life and support the change process. She blends strength based and mindfulness during counseling or coaching sessions. She is trained in EMDR and DBT counseling approaches, and practices Whole Life coaching methods. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Fordham University in New York City, with a major in Psychology and a minor in Computer Sciences; Master of Public Health from Columbia University School of Public Health in New York City, with a concentration in Health Planning and Policy; Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Florida.
