Education & Experience

I specialize in work with substance abuse, addiction, chronic relapse, those that suffer from emotional issues in conjunction with addiction, and children. In my experience, when emotional issues are treated concurrently with addiction you will have the greatest success in reducing issues related to both simultaneously. As such, I am dually licensed to handle issues related to both mental health and addiction. I work from a psychodynamic perspective and believe that insight-oriented therapy can assist in increasing self-awareness to resolve inner-conflict. Although this is my primary basis for treatment, I also utilize other therapeutic approaches to meet your individual needs and treatment goals. I utilize EMDR in treating trauma. For work specific to children and adolescents, I am experienced in play-therapy and sand-tray therapy which can be highly effective tools during the therapeutic process.
