About Me

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and I understand first-hand that healing is a journey; I am here to support you every step of the way. With thirteen years of experience, I offer a compassionate, strengths-based, client-centered approach, and I am committed to providing personalized care tailored to your unique needs. I have several years of experience working with adolescents, adults, and families in a variety of settings, including the home environment, residential placements, hospital and outpatient settings, providing therapeutic strategies and crisis intervention. I strive to engage clients and families in a collaborative, individualized and fulfilling treatment process. I am passionate about acting as an advocate and role model to my clients, while utilizing a positive attitude, motivational skills, and excellent communication to establish rapport and develop a therapeutic relationship. I believe that the quality of the therapeutic relationship is just as valuable as the modalities used in the work we do together. I incorporate a multi-model approach to include the use of EMDR, CBT, DBT and a strengths-based perspective to treat individuals with anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma and behavioral difficulties. I currently work closely with survivors of sexual assault, sexual harassment, intimate partner violence and stalking.

Education & Experience

I obtained my Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Development and Family Studies at The University of Connecticut and a Master of Social Work degree at Fordham University. I am currently EMDR trained and am very excited to soon begin my consultation and additional training toward certification. I also have training in LENS Neurofeedback; Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy; Creating Trauma Informed Spaces; Therapeutic Crisis Intervention; Dialectical Behavior Therapy; Responding to Disclosures of Sexual Assault-How to Practically and Emotionally Support Clients Who Have Experienced Sexual Violence.

Professional & Volunteer Affiliations

I currently work full-time at Yale University as a SHARE Counselor (Sexual Harassment Assault Response and Education). My focus is on providing direct services to members of the Yale community, including on-call response via SHARE’s 24/7 hotline, facilitation for student support groups, individual supportive counseling, and short-term trauma-focused therapy for experiences of sexual misconduct. I also own a solo Private Practice, Nicole Danielle Therapy LLC where I am excited to specialize in treating trauma, anxiety and depression through the use of Psychotherapy and EMDR.
