About Me
I am a board-certified expert in traumatic stress, a Diplomate of the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress. I'm a holistic psychotherapist in private practice, a sociologist, disaster relief specialist, certified meditation and yoga teacher, consultant, writer, speaker, social activist, musician, and artist. My mission has been to offer alternative approaches of healing to awaken the full and just potential of individuals and communities, free from the obstacles of oppression, no matter what the source. Beginning in 2000, I have offered presentations and trainings on multiple topics within the arenas of mental health, trauma, EMDR, disaster mental health, and stress reduction practices.

Trauma Recovery EMDR HAP (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, Humanitarian Assistance Program) -NYC Trauma Recovery Team Member: Pro Bono trauma treatment to frontline medical workers during the Covid-19 Pandemic. -Member, Board of The Directors: International Committee and Trauma Recovery Network (Assisted in development of best standards of practice, protocols, and guidelines for TRNs, trainings, and international humanitarian assistance -Development Team Member: Steering Committee: assisted in the development of the New York City Trauma Recovery Network. Clinical Consultant and Team Member: Provided consultation to EMDR clinicians on the use of RTEP, Recent Events Protocol while offering trauma treatment to victims of Hurricane Sandy in NYC area. Regional Coordinator: Mid-Hudson Valley Regional EMDRIA Network A co-coordinator who provided on-going group consultation for EMDR therapists, offering support for the use and development of EMDR in the region. Critical Incident Response Specialist: Crisis Care Network Provided brief disaster relief mental health in workplace settings as needed. Disaster Services Human Resource Member: American Red Cross, Ulster County, NY Disaster Response Team involved in the response to Hurricane Katrina: provided volunteer mobilization and screening, deployment preparation; shelter operations; Psychological First Aid, assistance to displaced families; counseling to returning field volunteers.
