About Me
Hello, I'm so glad that you have taken on this journey of introspection, growth, and healing. I'm Patricia Alvarado and I have been in the helping profession for over ten years, working with children/teens, adults, and providing parent coaching using evidence-based practices. I explore things from a multicultural lens that allows me to understand your individual needs through active listening, empathy, and from a non-judgmental standpoint. I specialize in EMDR, CBT, Solution Focused Treatment, and Mindfulness which allows me to focus my client's needs in the here and now to help create trust within the therapeutic relationship. I have extensive experience with trauma treatment, anxiety, depression, mindfulness, substance abuse, and parenting. My specialty includes exploring through an EMDR lens to help desensitize and reprocess negative cognitions. Why re-traumatize if you don't have to? EMDR is different from talk therapy and this is what makes this treatment incredibly unique! I am committed to decrease the barriers to access mental health services and due to this, my practice includes online sessions (via a HIPAA secure video), office, and in-home appointments. Having these options allows us to build a strong therapeutic relationship where we are actively working on both your short and long terms goals each time we meet.
