Patricia Cornell, LMSW

About Me

As a licensed social worker, Patty Cornell has spent more than twenty years managing children and family programs, as well as providing home-based therapy for at risk families. Her vast experience includes utilizing a variety of therapy modalities, including Play Therapy, TF-CBT, EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Strength-Based Solution Focused Therapy. She works with both children and adults while providing counseling and guidance regarding the development of positive coping skills and parenting strategies. Patty works collaboratively with local agencies, courts, school systems, shelters, hospitals, and social services to ensure the needs of her clients are met. In addition to her work with clients, Patty provides training, cofacilitation, and monitoring other therapists on Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Parent Management, and EMDR. In her private practice, Patty’s primary modality is the (EMDR) model to address maladaptive symptoms and behaviors. As a result of the great success with patients in her practice, while utilizing EMDR, Patty became a consultant. She provides consultation and certification to other clinicians for EMDR in children and adults.
