About Me

Hi, my name is Patricia (Patty) Baker and I am currently an LISW-S practicing at Midwest Counseling Centers of Ohio. I have been practicing as a social worker for 6 years. I have had the good fortune to work for several types of agencies during that time and have experience with severe, persistent mental illness as a result of my time working for an inpatient psychiatric unit as well as experience working as a therapist in community mental health. I am certified to work with personality disorders and have basic training certification in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing treatment. I am currently working with adults aged 18 and up. I am a trauma survivor who is also the mother of two amazing children on the Autism Spectrum. As a result of these two circumstances, I have spent time on the other side of the therapeutic relationship and became a therapist to pay back the time and attention that was given to me while my family was needing healing and support. My style of treatment is more directive and I count myself most successful when I see my clients becoming more capable of managing their own life circumstances and achieving their goals.
