About Me

Peter Marsh graduated in 2012 with a Master’s of Arts Degree in Marriage Family Therapy with a specialization in General Family Therapy. He is a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist (LMFT) with the State of Colorado. He has been in private practice since January 2012, specializing in couples therapy, sexual addiction, depression, anxiety, and trauma. Peter is a Clinical Fellow with the American Association of Marriage Family Therapists (AAMFT), a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) with the International Association of Trauma Professionals (IATP), and a Certified Sexual Recovery Therapist (SRT) with the American Association of Sexual Addiction Therapy (AASAT). He has had extensive training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) from the Beck Institute of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Peter is a level 3 Gottman trained therapist working towards becoming a Certified Gottman Therapist. Peter incorporates evidence-based treatment theories in his practice of psychotherapy. His philosophy of counseling begins with the recognition that people experience problems throughout life that result in forming conclusions about themselves, which are false, resulting in painful negative emotions that impact their choices. He helps clients identify these erroneous conclusions, reframe them, and move towards a more secure self.
