About Me
I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor (LCMHCS) with extensive experience supporting individuals across the lifespan. I have worked with adolescents, young adults, and adults ranging from their teens through their 70s in community, academic, and private practice settings. I specialize in helping clients navigate depression, anxiety, trauma, and major life transitions, including the emotional impact of infidelity, workplace-related trauma, accidents, divorce, chronic stress, and relational challenges. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and strengths-based. I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered in their healing process. I integrate evidence-based practices with a holistic perspective, drawing from my background as a therapeutic yoga instructor to support mind-body awareness, emotional regulation, and resilience. This allows me to address not only emotional concerns, but also how stress and trauma are experienced in the body. I am especially passionate about working with individuals who are navigating periods of change, uncertainty, or emotional overwhelm. Through EMDR and other trauma-informed interventions, I support clients in processing difficult experiences, strengthening coping skills, and developing greater clarity, confidence, and emotional balance as they move forward.
Education & Experience
I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and an MBA. I am currently a PhD candidate focusing on Personal Growth Initiative, resilience, and the Supervisory Working Alliance. I have nearly ten years of experience providing mental health services in community mental health, higher education, and private practice settings. I am trained in EMDR and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and am a Certified Addiction Counselor. My clinical background includes working with individuals affected by trauma, mood disorders, substance use, professional burnout, and life transitions. I also serve as a clinical supervisor and have experience training and mentoring developing counselors.
Professional & Volunteer Affiliations
I am an active member of the Military and Government Counseling Association of North Carolina (MGANCC), a division of the North Carolina Counseling Association. Through this affiliation, I am committed to supporting military service members, veterans, government employees, and first responders by promoting access to culturally responsive, trauma-informed mental health care. I remain actively engaged in professional development, leadership initiatives, and continuing education focused on ethical practice, counselor wellness, and evidence-based trauma treatment. My professional involvement reflects a dedication to lifelong learning, community service, and advancing high-quality mental health care for diverse and underserved populations.
