About Me

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Addiction Counselor in Arkansas, with over 28 years of experience working with adolescents and adults. I believe each person is unique and an expert in their own life. I provide an objective, respectful, compassionate view to assist a person in areas that may hinder them from being the best version of themselves. I work with each person to establish their life goals and a path to accomplish them. My approach is to assist a person in finding the root cause of their symptoms, not just skills to cope with them. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and EMDR as tools to assist us along the way. Although I work with a variety of concerns, my passion is assisting people through trauma. My definition of trauma is anything that causes you to feel "stuck" and prevents you from living your life joyfully.

Education & Experience

I received my Master's Degree in Counselor Education in 1994 from Southern Arkansas University. I've spent over 24 years of my career in community mental health which has allowed me the experience of working with a wide variety of emotional/behavioral issues. I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).
