Education & Experience

I am a graduate of South Dakota State University for both my bachelor’s degree in Psychology and my master’s degree in Counseling with the Agency Mental Health emphasis. I started out in a community mental health center working with kids, teens, adults, couples, and families for almost 10 years. I transitioned to Lutheran Social Services for four years and worked as the mental health provider for the Brookings County Drug Court and DUI Court Programs in addition to providing outpatient services in the community. During this time I worked with multiple individuals struggling with trauma resulting in my becoming trained in EMDR. I have been actively utilizing EMDR since becoming trained and certified. I am passionate about providing EMDR when appropriate; reading multiple books and taking additional trainings to continue to grow my skills in this area.
