About Me
I am often told that I have the ability to find hope in what seems hopeless. Feeling heard and being understood without judgment are often integral steps toward significant change. During my 30+ years in the public mental health field, I have learned that most people can work through challenges, yet at times, we benefit from being reminded of our strengths and what we need and deserve in order to thrive as unique individuals. I work with adults addressing a full range of challenges such as anxiety, depression, low self-worth, trauma, substance use, anger, communication and life transitions. I have particular interest in working with individuals in order to improve their self-worth and strengthen their interpersonal skills as they learn to establish and maintain healthy relationships. I also offer professional experience to help parents become more effective and confident with their children and find joy in parenting again. I draw upon a range of evidence based approaches and interventions which are tailored to fit your individual needs, wants, and goals. My trauma informed practice is facilitated with advanced trainings in a variety of therapeutic modalities, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Co-Occurring Disorders Treatment, Narrative Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Motivational Interviewing. I welcome you to contact me so you can assess whether or not I am a good fit for your online counselling needs.
