Samantha Kenney, LCSW-C
About Me
I am dedicated to helping individuals process difficult experiences, strengthen emotional resilience, and move toward meaningful change. I work collaboratively with clients to create a safe, supportive environment where healing can occur at a pace that feels manageable and empowering. My approach integrates evidence-based practices, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing and other trauma treatments, while recognizing the importance of each client’s unique experiences, strengths, and goals. I have experience working with individuals navigating trauma, disrupted attachment, anxiety, depression, OCD, addiction, life transitions, emotional regulation difficulties, and relationship challenges. My goal is to help clients reconnect to themselves and others.
Education & Experience
I received Bachelor of Arts degrees in Psychology and Social Work, as well as a Master of Social Work degree, from Salisbury University. I have been a licensed social worker and therapist since 2011. I began my professional career as a school-based therapist, where I worked for five years before transitioning into trauma treatment in 2016. For nearly 10 years, I worked in a nonprofit setting providing trauma treatment to children, adolescents, and adults who had experienced physical abuse, sexual abuse, sexual assault, and domestic violence. I currently work with a wide range of individuals experiencing diverse challenges, including anxiety, trauma, OCD, Autism, and addiction. I am certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
