Mrs. Sara Arter, LCSW
Preferred Name: Sara
About Me
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the founder of HeartfeltHealing LLC. I specialize in working with children, adolescents, and young adults navigating trauma, anxiety, eating disorders, relationship difficulties, and life transitions. My approach is trauma-informed, relational, and grounded in both neuroscience and compassion.
I believe healing happens when clients feel deeply understood and emotionally safe. Many of the individuals I work with are high-functioning, thoughtful, and self-aware — yet internally struggle with shame, perfectionism, emotional overwhelm, or feeling “not enough.” I help clients move from survival patterns to more secure, regulated, and empowered ways of living.
My work integrates EMDR, DBT-informed skills, I-CBT, somatic and polyvagal-informed interventions, and mindfulness practices. I tailor treatment to each client’s developmental stage and nervous system needs, balancing depth work with practical tools.
Above all, I strive to create a space where clients feel seen without judgment and supported without pressure.
Education & Experience
I hold a Master’s degree in Social Work and am licensed as an LCSW in Florida, New Jersey, and Virginia.
I have training in:
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT-informed interventions)
Inference-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT)
Trauma-informed care
Eating disorder treatment
Mindfulness and somatic-based approaches
My clinical experience includes working with youth, adolescents, and adults experiencing trauma, attachment wounds, anxiety disorders, obsessive thinking patterns, emotional dysregulation, and disordered eating.
I have worked in both outpatient and higher levels of care settings and understand the complexity of co-occurring concerns.
