About Me

I am a passionate, lifelong learner who believes in the power and necessity of healing to create better worlds and futures. I approach therapeutic work from a genuine, non-judgmental, client as the expert on themself, integrative approach. I strongly value holding space and never take for granted the privilege of hearing someone else's story and struggle. I love working with people feeling stuck because of impactful events.

Education & Experience

The short version is that I integrate tools and strategies from different modalities to assist in resourcing. My eclectic experiences across a range of settings allow me to be flexible and dynamic in meeting you where you're at and moving together to work on what's most important for you. The longer more detailed version is: I have a Masters in Social Work (University of Michigan School of Social Work, graduated December 2015). I have experience working on a sexual assault crisis hotline, as a mentor for adolescents (in community programs, a middle school in Boulder, and a high school in Detroit), on child and adolescent inpatient psychiatry units, in outpatient adult psychiatry, with veterans around opioid safety and suicide prevention, and in private practice primarily working with trauma and LGBTQIA+ folks navigating identity and gender-affirming care. I am passionate about Attachment and Somatics which I integrate into my practice. I have completed the Somatic Attachment Therapy certificate program from the Embody Lab, was specifically trained in Somatic and Attachment Focused EMDR (SAFE) through PTI, and continue to expand my knowledge and training through embodied anti-racism work and somatic practices. Outside of EMDR, I also am trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Parts Work, Motivational Interviewing (MI), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Self-Compassion, Mindfulness, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I feel like humor, puns, analogies, and metaphors are also important pieces of relationship building.

Professional & Volunteer Affiliations

Outside of being a therapist, I am engaged in mutual aid work and organizing.
