Education & Experience

Credentials:
Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Pennsylvania
Licensed Professional Counselor in Puerto Rico
Qualified Administrator of the Intercultural Development Inventory

Education:
M.S. in Christian Counseling from Cairn University

Counseling Experience:
Oasis Counseling Center -
I began to counsel in 2010 at a college campus counseling center called Oasis at Cairn University where I met primarily with college students struggling with a wide variety of mental health diagnoses - from personality disorders to mood disorders to relationship struggles.
ServingLeaders Ministries -
When I became a full time faculty member at Cairn University and left Oasis, I began to counsel in private practice through ServingLeaders Ministries where I still counsel. My treatment focus at ServingLeaders is Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, Ministry difficulties and Relationship Issues.
Vida Redimida Counseling -
In 2024 I decided to take the step of creating my own private practice in order to be able to offer more affordable counseling in both Spanish and English. While many people do have the funds to pay the going competitive rates per session, many do not. It is disappointing when individuals either cannot afford counseling, or can only afford one session a month as one session a month is not conducive to seeing significant growth and healing. While I am happy to accept the going rate for counseling if you can afford it, I am also happy to work with you to be able to get the help that you need. In English, Vida Redimida means "Redeemed Life." I decided to title my private practice in both Spanish and English as I straddle both worlds every day and want to offer services in both Spanish and English.

Supervisory Experience:
Cairn University -
Soon after graduation I began supervising student interns in counseling at the Oasis counseling center. This included watching live and recorded feed of their sessions, creating and running skills training groups and providing consultation on cases. With my office located in the counseling center my door was open to assist counselors in any way I could. All during this time I continued in regular supervision consultation for myself from my colleagues at the university.
Place of Refuge -
In 2021 I began to supervise at a non-profit in Kensington Philadelphia that serves a diverse population which includes a large percentage of Spanish speakers. Due to living in Mexico at the time, having become bilingual, and later marrying a Boriqua in 2022 and moving to Puerto Rico, I have had the privilege of continuing to learn and grow in offering supervision that integrates cultural contexts and seeks to provide cultural appropriate interventions. I am grateful to have been able to help 2 counselors at POR finish their hours for licensure and hope to help others!
Mexico -
In 2020 I began to teach and train lay counselors in Puebla, Mexico and continued until fall of 2025. One of my students decided to pursue her Master's degree in Counseling in Mexico and I continue to supervise her as she now counsels professionally in her small hometown of San Felipe Teotlalcingo.
ServingLeaders Ministries -
In 2024, due to expansions at ServingLeaders, I was asked to begin supervising and readily accepted. I assisted two counselors in obtaining their license in the state of Pennsylvania and am excited to be a part of investing in the counselors on staff through group supervision and staff meetings.
Vida Redimida Counseling -
After beginning my private practice I had two individuals reach out to me for consultation and supervision. One I am assisting one in continuing to grow as a therapist as he finishes his required hours for PA licensure.

Teaching & Training Experience:
Cairn University -
Teaching: In 2010 I began to lead labs for first year graduate students and continued to do this every year until 2019. I had the privilege of teaching students Basic Helping Skills and Individual Assessment and Counseling Lab in a practice setting for 3 hours each week. Additional graduate courses I taught were: Trauma & Grief, Individual Assessment and Counseling and Professional Development Practicum. The undergraduate courses I taught were: Problems and Procedures in Counseling, Group Theory and Practice, Group Discipleship and Sport Psychology.
Training: Throughout my time at Cairn University I was regularly training students and interns in counseling - from basic counseling skills to suicide assessment. I created a training program for students who were struggling to apply skills in the master's degree program, and led trainings on various topics for counseling practicum and internship students in the Oasis Counseling center.
Place of Refuge -
During group supervision at Place of Refuge I have run trainings for the counselors on Trauma, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cultural Competence, Suicide Assessment and Case Conceptualization.
Mexico -
In Puebla, Mexico I was training lay counselors since from 2020-2025. All of the lay counselors have received training from me in Basic Listening Skills, The Redeemed Heart Model of Counseling, Recognizing Diagnoses and when to Refer, Trauma, Self-Injury and a model of Group Discipleship.
Dubai -
I began training lay counselors in Dubai in 2023. We have currently compeleted the first three trainings that I offer: Basic Listening Skills, The Redeemed Life Model of Counseling Part I & Part II.
