Education & Experience
I started out as a certified peer mentor creating and facilitating LGBTQIA+ support groups back in 2008. I have also provided training and consulting on LGBTQIA+ affirming care to professional organizations since 2009 including at professional conferences. I went to school for psychology at MATC in 2009 and then finished my bachelors degree at Evergreen State College in 2015. I worked as a certified and licensed hypnotherapist with trauma survivors in my own practice on and off starting in 2013 and volunteered on crisis lines since then as well. I worked in community mental health with different populations primarily with issues of addiction and trauma as a bachelor's level clinician and care coordinator. I then went to graduate school in 2017 at the University of Washington School of Social Work as I wanted to increase my skills and shift into leadership. I got specialized training in culturally responsive care, child development (including ASD and ADHD support) and attachment, and addiction. I worked in elementary and high schools and was a research assistant at the Harm Reduction Research and Treatment Center at the University of Washington Department of Psychiatry. After graduation I opened up my practice and worked for the Washington State Health Care Authority co-designing (with lived experts) best practices for working with homeless youth. After leaving the state, I finished my full license requirements and work as both a therapist and consultant. Throughout these experiences I have completed many trainings and certifications and kept up on treatment and research for folx in the LGBTQIA+ population. I am newly trained in EMDR as of February 2024 and completing my consultation hours. I have loads of training in somatic therapies, mindfulness, parts work, cognitive, and behavioral therapies. I am excited to integrate EMDR into my practice!!
