Mrs. Shannon Litle, LMFT
About Me
Hello! My name is Shannon Litle and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I am also a former Deputy Sheriff, a mother, stepmother, wife to a retired Deputy Sheriff, a CrossFit athlete, and a retired competitive gymnast. These many roles relate to the communities I am passionate about serving: first responders navigating work-related trauma and stress, along with their spouses and significant others; mothers facing the emotional complexities of preconception, pregnancy, and postpartum life; and current and former athletes dealing with performance anxiety, perfectionism, and the challenges of life after sport.
Education & Experience
I earned my MA in Counseling from Sonoma State University and my BA in Psychology from the University of California, Santa Cruz. After spending nearly two years working in clinical settings during and following graduate school, I stepped away from the field for almost a decade to serve as a law enforcement officer.
This experience profoundly shapes my clinical work today, particularly with first responders navigating work-related trauma and chronic stress. My approach is not only trauma-informed through my training in EMDR, but also deeply grounded in real-world experience—from years of crisis response as a Deputy Sheriff to my later work as a clinician in a correctional setting, pre-private practice.
